The Critical Decade: Climate Change and Health -- New report
A new report on climate change and health has been released by the Climate Commission. This report provides an up to date synthesis of the expected impacts of climate change on health.
The report finds that climate change is affecting our health in Australia and represents a significant threat to our future. It states that our health is dependent on the natural environment for our basic requirements, such as safe water, clean air, sufficient food, tolerable temperatures and protection from the elements. Climate change is shown to already be putting pressure on the natural, economic and social systems required to sustain good health. Sustained action to both mitigate and adapt to these changes is recommended.
