Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange
The Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange (CAKE) is a joint project between Island Press and EcoAdapt. It is aimed at building a shared knowledge base for managing natural systems in the face of rapid climate change. It is intended to help share knowledge in the area of climate change adaptation by providing a virtual library, a case studies database, a directory, tools, and an online community.
The Virtual Library is a complete, managed repository of documents relating to climate change adaptation. It gathers in one place the information relevant to adaptation appearing in traditional conservation journals, grey literature and reports, books on a range of subjects, case studies, videos, state, local, and regional action plans among other hard-to-access forms. The Case Study Database has been developed by the leading thinkers at EcoAdapt to provide quick access to information about on-the-ground climate change adaptation projects. The Directory includes people and organizations practicing on-the-ground climate change adaptation. The Tools section of CAKE directs you to the wealth of tools available online to help you process climate change information and make adaptation decisions.
